Gregory A. Pasler is a partner at DeTommaso Law Group, L.L.C., and a seasoned matrimonial trial attorney. Certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a Matrimonial Law Attorney, he is among the approximately 3% of New Jersey attorneys who hold a Supreme Court certification. This distinction reflects his substantial experience, strong peer and judicial recommendations, and successful completion of a rigorous full-day written examination.
Greg has tried numerous cases, including complex matrimonial, custody and domestic violence disputes, in court and arbitration, achieving successful results for his clients. He combines thorough preparation, strategic judgment, and forceful advocacy throughout each cases, from settlement negotiations through trial and appeal. When a fair resolution cannot be reached, he is prepared to litigate aggressively to protect his client’s interests.
His practice encompasses divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, and domestic violence, with extensive experience in high-net-worth divorces and contested financial and custody matters. Greg represents clients across a wide range of financial circumstances. He understands that the stakes are deeply personal, regardless of the size of the marital estate, and brings the same determination to protecting each client’s financial security, parental rights, and future.
Greg represents clients in both the Trial Court and the Appellate Division. His appellate work has received recognition in Yahoo! Finance, the New Jersey Law Journal, and Law360 for helping shape legal standards and procedures in family law. He also brings specialized knowledge to matrimonial matters that intersect with federal civil and criminal litigation.
In addition to his courtroom practice, Greg is a Qualified Family Law Mediator and has been appointed by the court to serve as an Early Settlement Panelist in Somerset and Hunterdon counties. He is trained in collaborative divorce, which helps clients resolve disputes without litigation. His experience across these approaches allows him to assess settlement opportunities with a practical understanding of the demands and consequences of trial. He also completed the Family Law Trial Advocacy Institute sponsored by the American Bar Association in Houston, Texas.
Greg earned his Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he received the Distinguished Law and Faculty Law Scholarships. He was named a Distinguished Public Interest Scholar and awarded a Public Interest Law Fellowship. Through the Seton Hall Center for Social Justice, he provided pro bono family law services to underserved communities in Newark. Following law school, he served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Robert J. Mega, J.S.C., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Union County.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management, cum laude, with a minor in Business Law and Ethics from Fairfield University. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Greg volunteers his legal services through the Battered Women’s Legal Advocacy Project and lectures on family law topics at the County College of Morris Women’s Center, where he contributes to its monthly newsletter. He is an active member of the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Family Law Section, the American Bar Association, the Somerset County Bar Association, and the New Jersey Collaborative Law Group.
Greg was selected to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, published by Thomson Reuters, from 2017 through 2026. He has also been recognized by the American Institute of Legal Counsel as a Top 10 Under 40 attorney for Family Law in New Jersey and designated a “Client Champion” by Martindale-Hubbell.
